Beginning of the End

It seems like whenever I blog, it's almost always related to canoeing huh? Makes me seem as though I have no life. Hahahaha, wth, that's not true by the way.

So... Nationals 2008 is over, NCC is over. So, it seems like canoeing races (excluding round ubin marathon) are over. This makes me feels sort of sad.
Yesterday, I took part in the 10km K2 race with Tan Sok Kai =D T1 companion and K2 partner for a short while. 10km may seem like a long distance to some, but to me it seemed pretty short. Mostly because I knew that it was going to be the last race I would ever row with her. Sitting in the same boat, paddling the same strokes, pulling hard together, I would never forget that feeling. We covered 2km... then 3km... and so on and were getting more tired, but we carried on because we weren't rowing to win any medal or whatever(duh, how can we beat RachWang and Cbay?) I know we aren't very fast but we were simply rowing for ourselves and for each other, as well as to beat our personal goal. I can sort of gladly say that we managed to achieve that. =)Stupid Jasmine, it was quite nice to hear the encouragements and cheers you would give not only to both of us, but everyone else as we rowed. Especially that NJ C1 guy, hahaha that was really nice/funny. Somehow becoming your T-rex, which was totally random, was pretty nice too. Anyway, rowing/lunching/gummybears/wrestling outside the toilets etc has been really fun so thanks for everything.

Of course, there're other senior girls too. All these months of training together was more enjoyable than I thought it would be. Truthfully, in december I couldn't imagine myself going down for training 5 to 6 times a week. I thought it was really nutty and I thought I would never ever go down for any optional trainings. Then, I went for our first training together in December where I saw everyone for the first time. Huitong who was supposed to be really fierce but somehow i find her really funny, Rachel Wang, the chipmunk captain =P, Suzie whom everyone kept asking her not to traumatise the juniors, Crystal whose always got this bubbly smile every time i see her in school, Peiyi who gives me the impression she's really smart for some reason, Gabby the crazy fun senior who keeps calling me hi-dy and refuses to correct it, Mingen the bouncy one with nice dimples(i want!), chunling the cheese monster, Jean the one who gives hugs when she sees us(again,just my impression). Phew. Soon after, I started to find training increasingly fun and actually went for optional trainings WILLINGLY. o_O.

After almost 8 months, I can safely say that I never regretted taking up canoeing in JC again and I don't think I ever would.

To the other junior girls, it's going to be OUR turn next year to win glory for ourselves and the team. I know it's always tough in the beginning when you can never seem to stay on your boat, start fast enough and the list just goes on. The first step is never easy. But you can always overcome all these, especially when you've got great teammates who are behind you all the way. Let's keep working hard together.

Felt rather sorry for the school counselor who was sharing on anger management. No one was listening and she was trying. I think to conduct such courses is like a lose-lose sitution, coz she gets frustrated and the kids arent happy to stay back. Yea.

Anw, before the course started, i did a big wave to a friend in front. Then he smiled and showed his fist, like gonna swear at me. In a joking manner of course, was amusing in a strange kinda way. But anw, he made up for it by agreeing with me when i said i was nice. So all's forgiven! lol. not that there was anything to forgive in the first place.

Nationals finally over~ SW's also gone back to Melbourne~ School's started~ Life is sad.

Nationals was looong.. it was worth missing one whole week of school =DDD I think, we all did really well for this time's nationals. And I think, we can win again next year =D Anyway, it was really fun.

Went to study with small chris, jane, jiaxu and jiaen at kap on saturday. i didn't really study much, but i pretty much understood wtv small chris taught. whooo he teaches like a pro - with all the flow charts and the way he just keeps talking and linking points as though he was reciting his ABCs. i'm going to get you to teach me again if i ever need help with econs! BUT the extra information he gave out was.... BAH it made me speechless. I should've expected it though =_=

Then me and AChoo went to suewei's house. She was going back the next day! We were so high that night. All evidence of that night's activites should be destroyed. We were seriously crazy.

School work's been piling up. I seriously don't feel like doing it. But i don't want to get DC so... i shall... find a way to get them completed. =D

NCC this weekend. K2 500m with Jiayi. K2 10km with Jasmine.

Oh gosh, 10km with retarded nice Jasmine. SHEESH, i'm going to be stuck in the SAME boat as Sokkai for ONE HOUR. What joy. =)

Stuff

Today was not bad. Got to know some ppl from co better while planning the seniors farewell. Was nice, so, glad to have been put in the planning committee.

Mmm, oh and just now I got home right, and was gonna bathe before eating dinner. And then I went into the bathroom to bathe, and ended up brushing my teeth instead. Cause I forgot I haven't eaten dinner yet. Wasn't thinking.

Had slpover at sue's place with hei on sat night. Was really fun and we took some wacky videos (:

I really love holidays. Terms passed by really quickly and I got back some of my results... A,E,E,U. I can't make a word with these grades. Oh well. It'll just be AUEE for now.

First week of proper lessons just passed. Linyi says that I seem happier than last term. Me? Happier? Hmmmm maybe i've simply lost some of my sanity. SA6 is a pretty fun class. =D

Tonight, I'm in the poetic mood. I composed a grand total of THREE poems. 2 for Jasmine and 1 for Jiayi. Hahaha, and i'm not going to reveal them here just because I like to be secretive. =)

Tomorrow's the first day of nationals! Yay! I'm pretty excited to see the results. Training with everyone for the past 7 months have been really fun. Ahh, I really don't want this to end. All the best to everyone! Let's go AC!

Aching Back!

So far, NOBODY understood amanda's joke and I had to verbally explain it to them. It's okay people, it's NORMAL not to understand her jokes. Don't kill your brain cells trying to understand them either, just ask me or the source herself. =)

Canoeing camp was fun... all the running... tempo-wtv-it's-called game... chatting... cheat =))) The first classroom where we were assigned to sleep in was too hot cuz there was something wrong with the air-conditioning. The alternate classroom was too cold... So a couple of us ended up sleeping outside along the corrider for a while before being transferred to the teacher's lounge =) For more details of the camp... go read other canoeists' blogs. I'm lazy to type out everything. Had lots of fun =)

Studied abit with Amanda the day before. All I did was one math tutorial while she did 2 chinese passages? She stayed till 11pm or so then I sorta chased her off. Idiot! We should do this more often and try to be more productive, but nooOo you're going off on your holiday till the 19th or was it 18th? Stupid girl. =)

Wanmei's birthday today! She probably got like... 4-5 birthday songs sang to her already. Haha. Went to swensen's in town to eat lunch with wm, jiayi, jiaxu, jiaen, huiyu and marliana. Started talking about going overseas together and everyone started planning everything as though we were going there next week or something XD I spent all my money on food, leaving me with a grand total of 45 cent. Bought badges from kenny and jiayin... walked around and did some window-shopping. I learnt something today, huiyu really hates shopping. hahaha it was pretty funny. Somehow I can't walk for long periods of time probably because of my spine. My back would start aching. The girls kept saying I was pregnant X_x

And I didn't get to eat pretzels.... ... . .. . . . .. . . . . . . . . .

bees and flowers?

on monday i got stung by a wasp/bee (let's just assume it's a wasp) right?? and on tuesday it starting swelling so my arm looked like a pig trotter right?? and it finally cooled by thurs right??? guess what. I GOT STUNG AGAIN. by a wasp again! the second sting's like 2cm above the first one. I hope it doesn't swell like the first one.

It'd better not be the same wasp! rawr.

lol wanmei was being an idiot today. i kept arguing that the bee stung me because it mistook me for a flower, but she kept insisting that she was the flower. it doesn't make sense right?? right??

So... my casualties for this week: Flu, Bee Sting, Lose Voice, Bee Sting again.

Today, jane somehow sprained her ankle pretty badly so she couldn't walk. bernice, wanmei and jiayi were crazy. They kept fighting to see who would give jane a piggyback. wanmei was immediately out after she toppled over on her first try. Warning to everyone, don't let wanmei give you a piggyback! It's dangerous. lol.

Talked to peizheng just now on msg. it's been so long =) HAHA jiayi! She replied me!!! hurhur, don't be jealous =) So... that's all for now.

Oh well...

Training was pretty horrible today... I was looking forward to rowing K2 with jasmine until i found out that we were going to have time-trials for nationals. Whaaat... it's the second time we're rowing together and a looong time since i've touched a K. =( the timing was screwed. the rudder was screwed. my rowing was screwed. i couldn't put in much power and Jas probably felt it as well. sorry! ><

We did much better the first time we rowed together. Much much much much better. Jas was also getting super stressed out from the rudder and directions. Ahhh stop apologising for it!! Yeah, we're covering a lot more distance from the zig-zagging and stuff but i'm not blaming you at all! You're not pulling anyone down! We'll try to avoid using Berserker from now. hehe. And the boat's REALLY STABLE and i mean really really super stable rowing k2 with you, so i didn't have to worry about capsizing at all. =))

To keep my new partner's sanity, i think i'm going to try sitting in front for a change. The first time i'm doing this but i hope it'll go well. Haven't had a lot of good experiences with the rudder =.= WE CAN DO THIS! let's look on the bright side, we were pretty good during the sets last week and at that time
altho i'm pretty sure shaun only saw our suckier sets

we didn't even do any bursting!!!! =)

Went to Coronation for lunch with some of the seniors... helped cheer me up quite a bit. Ended up sleeping most of the afternoon which means that I would have to stay up to attempt to do some studying tonight.

My mom's been having a fever for the past 2 days, gonna take her to the doctor's tomorrow. It's been a long time since she's fallen sick so i hope she gets well soon. I'm sure she'll get well faster if she rests more often. Yesterday when i called back to check on her, she sounded so terrible so i ended up going home right after school. The moment i got home, i found her doing some washing to "sweat it out" $%(*^$# So much for resting.

Meanwhile, I better make sure i don't fall ill too... though i've been feeling like shit these few days. JIAYI although i keep refusing your disgustingly huge multi-vitamins, i've been taking my own vitamins at home which are easier to swallow. yay. =)

Law of Diminishing Returns

In econs today, the teacher went through the Law of Diminishing Returns, and to help us understand it better she gave us this analogy: In a relationship, the best ratio is 1:1. When it becomes 1:2, girl 1 and girl 2 as the variable factors, there is a ratio problem. Less time spent nurturing relationship, more time spent fighting over fixed factor-the guy( in econs terms, less productive/ decreasing marginal profit). I can't rmb what exactly she said, so this is best as I can rmb, I found it pretty funny at the time.
And during math lecture last week, the teacher asked: What do I get when I substitute u into f(x)? And someone shouted out f u!

Rawr

Things haven't been going too well lately since Sunday. My time trial was really bad. Really really bad. I won't come up with any excuses for it. I simply suck =( To lift our spirits up, me and Jasmine went to Coronation hoping to get some bubble tea. But it was closed =( Then I waited really long for the bus. =( Then I got dragged out to Toa Payoh to see some home designer company cuz' we're gonna renovate the house. I was nodding off throughout the talk until I couldn't take it anymore and wandered off by myself =( Never got to eat lunch until 4pm =( Didn't get to do much homework =(

Argh. PW sucks. We're redoing our GPP. Can't think of anyone to do on. I don't want to think anymore =/

This is getting depressing I shall stop.

Whee surprise, me and amanda blogging on the same day even though we didn't discuss this or anything. This post shall be dedicated to my childhood friend and bestie for 14 years =DDD Others might want to skip this post because you might find it boring if you don't know the person i'm referring to. =)

Tan Sue Wei!! I just received a snail mail from you which crawled its way all the way from Australia!!! And she sent me a really belated birthday present along with a long long handwritten letter which was written over a few days. So much effort and sincerity was put into it! <3333 I got really really sad as I read the letter because it reminded me of how far away she is from me now. I used to be able to see her just by taking the lift two floors down!!! By the time I was done with the letter, I really wanted to talk to her so badly and I started crying. Those of you who knows me would know that I'm not the type to cry easily. And this time, TAN SUE WEI, I spilled my tears just for you =)))

Suewei!! Hang in there!! Even though it may be lonely over there, just think of all the friends you have here!! We'll be there for you and we would think of you just like the way you think of us all the time. Miss you loads ;_;

Bugs & Buses

Today's journey home was like so:
Got off at the bus stop. Dug into my bag for ipod, looked up, one of the two buses i cld take coming. thought it was stopping, so didn't stick up hand to wave. it didn't stop. then slightly further down from the bus stop, it stopped to let ppl off. so i quickly walked over and tapped on the door, then it drove off. Granted the bus driver prob didn know i was there coz there were so many people blocking the door.So i walked back to the bus stop in humiliation and defeat. This time i stood at the bus stop and waited, then looked down to switch on my ipod. and when i looked up, lo and behold, 75 was going by. whee. wts. so i thought i would have to wait very long so i decided to walk to the next bus stop where i had many more buses. and just when i arrived, a 75 just arrived! meaning i didn't have to walk. Great.
Oh, journey to school this morn, haha. missed 75 cause my neighbour and i were talking. so we had to get on the next bus and then catch up with 75, get off and hop onto it for one stop just to change bus again. whee.


Hm, due to time constraint i haven't been blogging, plus there are many issues i don't feel are suitable to be posted on the big wide net. I guess i wld recommend not coming here often, say once a month, since as you can see, neither heidy nor i are avid bloggers.

Oh, today when i walked angel behind the tennis court, a whole host of mosquitoes descended upon me to devour me. It's like i felt one, so i slapped at it, and the next thing u know there were tons of mosquitoes. In like the 2 seconds i was there, i sustained 5 bites. That many mosquitoes actually looked kinda scary. And last night there was a praying mantis on my hair! I was at home sitting at the dining table, I really dont know how it came to be there.
