Pol the Dog

There was once a dog named Pol. Pol was a lonely dog, very lonely indeed. So he set off on a quest to find someone who was willing to be his friend. As such, he took his trusty old bicycle and cycled northwards where he thought he might meet someone nice.

Upon reaching a small town at the suburb of the city, he stopped to get a bite to eat. He looked down dismally at the one-dollar coin in his paws and wondered what he could get with it. He bought a bun and used up the one-dollar coin, which was all the money he had. Feeling completely broke, he decided that he needed to get a job. So the job hunt began.

It wasn't long before he found a job as a worker rebuilding and restoring old temples and settled down contently. During the day, he would pile sand and stone, transporting them to various places, nailing planks of wood and carrying heavy materials. But at night... he went wild.

Pol poked his head into bathroom where tweety the sparrow was taking a shower to ask for her handphone number but got a slapped on his face instead. He also tried to perform a dance he made up himself in the middle of the road to get some sort of attention, but alas he was not noticed. Dejected and morally-hurt, Pol retired to his doghouse and slept.

Seeing as how he could not make any friends in this town, Pol jumped onto his bicycle and set off again as soon as he earned enough money to last him for a while. He found himself riding through a forest. It was dark and eerie, yet not a sound was heard, as if the forest itself was watching Pol.

A squirrel stopped him and said," Mister, i haven't eaten for days and I'm so very hungry. Do you have any food for me?" Pol took pity on him and gave him all the food he had. The squirrel left thanking him and smiling at him. This made Pol feel very good about himself as he thought he had made a friend.

Cycling on, he met a turtle which said,"Mister, my house just collapsed on me and i need some money to rebuild my house." Pol gave him all the hard-earned money and the turtle left thanking him and smiling at him. This made Pol feel even happier as he once again thought that he had made another friend.

On and on he went util he came across a bear which said, " Mister, i need to get to my wife as soon as possible because she's in labour!" Pol gave him his bicycle and the bear left on it thanking him and smiling at him. Pol felt happier than he ever had been in his life.

He continued walking until he met a tiger which said, " I have an illness that only the limbs of a dog can cure, if not i will perish." Pol's eyes lit up and eagerly offered his limbs to the tiger. The tiger took them while chuckling and left leaving a note behind that wrote "friend".

Pol cried tears of happiness as he lay on the mossy ground of the forest.
